I partner with a Registered Dietician to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to helping individuals lose weight. We combine behavioral health education, nutrition science, and fitness to assist individuals in making permanent healthy life style changes. In addition to having our primary educational areas of specialties, we are both certified personal trainers. Change in lifestyle occurs with behavioral, nutritional, and movement in an interactive model. We offer both individual and group services.
It is estimated that in children born in the year 2000 and beyond; 1in 2 ethnic minorities will develop type II diabetes and 1 in 3 Caucasians will develop type II diabetes. Type II diabetes is both preventable and treatable through healthy and active lifestyle.
As noted by Philip Smith, National Institute of Diabetes and Kidney Diseases, "You won't become obese unless you over eat. Genes pre-dispose you but they aren't your destiny."
